- Discard any two cards that total Thirteen. Jacks are worth 11 and Queens 12. Discard Kings singly.
- All uncovered cards can be paired off with any other exposed card.

- The topmost cards are available for play.

- After all possible moves are made, two more cards from these piles are dealt out to the reserves to create more possibilities.
